Modern trucks have become luxury vehicles with massive monthly payments, giant touchscreens, and features buried in endless menus. Instead of signing up for years of debt, I decided to restore a cheap 1993 Ford Ranger and build in every feature I actually wanted. Over the course of this build I: • Repainted the truck in Ford Desert Tan • Installed new wheels and all-terrain tires • Completely blacked out and restored the interior • Reupholstered the seats • Added Apple CarPlay • Built a custom motorized radio system • Added a HUD, backup camera, TPMS, dash cams, and remote locks • Installed a custom fighter-jet-inspired control panel • Designed and 3D printed custom parts • And built one feature Ford would never let you order from the factory...
